It’s Nine in the Afternoon…

So, I promised a review of the new Panic! at the Disco CD that came out on Tuesday.  I haven’t gone to the store to pick it up yet, so I’ll just give you an update on how it is doing.

According to Amazon.com, the CD is selling pretty well.  It’s #10 overall in the music category.  When you break it down, it looks even better.  It’s #2 in the Alternative Rock category, #6 in Rock, and #7 in Pop.

Here’s a look at the Amazon.com Top 10 Bestsellers as of 11:03 on Wednesday morning.  I’ll warn you now, some of these aren’t even released yet.  Amazon pre-sells some music.  Click below to see the list…

#9.  Van Morrison – Keep It Simple (April 1st)
#8.  Madonna – Hard Candy (April 29th)
#7.  Across the Universe Soundtrack*
#6.  Jack Johnson – Sleep Through the Static

*Across the Universe is the movie that remixes / remakes a bunch of songs by The Beatles and puts them into a storyline about a boy, Jude, who goes to the United States to find his father.  He ends up finding new friends and taking an incredible journey.  The movie is visually stimulating and very engaging.  The CD is good as well and the songs are still on rotation on my MP3 player.  One of the best parts about it is the ability to sing along with the songs.  They are all well-known and even though they are slightly remixed, they are all very recognizable.  If you’re a fan of The Beatles or a fan of good music, I would highly recommend this double-disc soundtrack.
