CD Releases (Week of May 13, 2008)
All kinds of good stuff this week in the new CD releases post…
First, how about new songs by The Offspring and Weezer. The Offspring have a new song out called ‘Hammerhead’ and I absolutely love it. It’s like three songs in one and they all seem to flow into each other perfectly. Nice work and welcome back Offspring. The other song that’s new is Weezer’s ‘Pork and Beans.’ I like this song as well. There’s only one gripe I have about it. In the song, there’s a line that goes as follows…
Timbaland knows the way to reach the top of the charts… Maybe if I work with him I can perfect the art.
Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s great that they’re giving props to Timbaland, but I think that would’ve been a great place for Timbaland to make a cameo in the song. How cool would it have been if after that line, they break it down and throw a little rap in there? That’s just my theory.
As I’m writing this post, I’m listening to Death Cab for Cutie’s new song. It’s called ‘I Will Possess Your Heart’ and it comes out on the ‘Narrow Stairs’ CD on Tuesday. If I could recommend one of the following to pick up, it’d be that one.
Anyway, here you go. New CDs…
Bryan Adams – 11
Cherish – The Truth
Death Cab for Cutie – Narrow Stairs
Jason Mraz – We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things
Ryan Cabrera – The Moon Under Water
Jeremy Mccomb – My Side of Town
Filter – Anthems for the Damned
Local H – 12 Angry Months
Safetysuit – Like Left to Go
We Are Scientists – Brain Trust Mastery

Bryan Adams, huh? I’ve heard different opinions about his album. I might have to pick it up myself to see what I personally think. If I don’t like it, atleast I know someone who loves him regardless.

Ya. I was kinda floored when I saw Bryan Adams on the list. There’s no way he’s ever going to beat ‘Summer of ‘69.’ It’s just not possible.
There have been some old artists making comebacks recently… not only the Offspring and Weezer (well, not an old artist, but still), but also Filter (‘Hey Man, Nice Shot’ and ‘Take a Picture’) and Local H (‘Bound for the Floor’… aka the Copasetic song).

Yea, I’ve noticed that! I haven’t heard from Filter in what seems forever!

I’ve been hearing a song on my car radio called ‘All Summer Long’ by Kid Rock. I was looking for it on Itunes yesterday, but it came up ‘No Search Results’. I found the CD on the Google search, which is ‘Rock N Roll Jesus’. Do you know if the CD has been released?

@Veronica…
I was checking Amazon.com and found that it came out in October of 2007. So, it’s out there. Check their website and you should be able to find it with no problem.

Geeeez I wonder why it’s just now on the radio!
I’ll check Itunes again and if it’s not there, I guess I’ll have to buy the CD to get the song. I like to download the singles that I like and burn my CD’s. That way I don’t have to keep skipping through the songs I don’t like to get to the good stuff.

And thanks for finding it for me. I wouldn’t have thought to look on Amazon!
